We're thrilled to present our 68th annual summer concert series!
Offering free live music experiences for all ages, this year's series features four concerts from the Clarence Summer Orchestra and Music Director Nick DelBello, plus appearances from celebrated local ensembles including Queen City Strings, Buffalo Bluegrass All Stars, The Anderson Big Band, Shakespeare in the Park, and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.
Two special chamber music performances precede the series’ traditional Sunday events. On Tuesday, June 16, talented musicians from Clarence High School perform a collection of chamber works at 7pm in the high school auditorium. The following Friday, June 19, Queen City Strings–led by violinist and Clarence music teacher James Ieda–presents a stunning program at 7pm in Clarence Center’s Zion Lutheran Church.
Weekly concerts Sundays at 7pm in Clarence’s Main Street Town Park begin June 28 with an evening of nostalgic melodies from Buffalo Bluegrass All Stars. July 5 marks the first of four Clarence Summer Orchestra performances, programmed and conducted by Music Director Nick DelBello. With nearly 60 local professional musicians, the orchestra and DelBello present a variety of music to delight orchestra novices and aficionados alike.
Commemorating America at 250, the July 5 program includes a salute to the American armed forces, John Williams’ Liberty Fanfare, Dvořák’s “New World” Symphony, and a collection of iconic American compositions by Bernstein, Copland, and Gershwin. On July 12 in collaboration with Sotto Voce Opera Collective, the orchestra performs An Evening of Opera–a collection of operatic favorites, with talented singers captivating the audience in selections from Beethoven’s Fidelio, Bizet’s Carmen, and 21st-century operas by Carlisle Floyd and Samuel Barber. July 19 is Game On!, featuring exhilarating music ranging from Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain to famous video game soundtracks including “World of Warcraft” and “Advent Rising”. Bach to the Beatles on July 26 concludes the Clarence Summer Orchestra’s 2026 performances, with orchestral arrangements of The Beatles’ hits, a selection of British composers’ finest works, and a Bach violin concerto featuring Buffalo native violinist, Téa Prokes. A special fundraising dinner on the Town Clubhouse patio precedes the July 26 performance, at 5pm.
The Clarence Concert Association is also proud to welcome several outstanding ensembles back to the Town Park bandshell. The Clarence Summer Band, comprised of Clarence music students, faculty, alumni, and community members returns on July 16. Shakespeare in the Park then brings their touring production of Fools and Foes on Tuesday, July 21. The following evening, July 22, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra performs a selection of music previewing their 26-27 concert season, with a special appearance from Clarence High School violist Aurora Sandner. Concluding the Clarence Concert Association’s 2026 series, The Anderson Big Band serenades audiences in the annual Dancing Under the Stars program on August 2.
